Interior architecture in the Nantes region
Our architects, decorators and landscapers have a perfect knowledge of the architectural issues specific to residential housing in Nantes and its surroundings.
In the historic center of Nantes, there are half-timbered houses, as well as buildings from the 1950s resulting from reconstruction. In the 18th century, the city underwent urban expansion with neo-classical or Haussmann style buildings which still house apartments today.
Individual housing also finds its place in the form of town houses or pavilions, a large number of which share a typology specific to the region, at the origin of the name “Nantes house”. In this configuration, the technical rooms are housed on the ground floor, while the upper floor is dedicated to the living rooms. Access to the latter is provided by exterior or interior stairs, meaning that the living room, kitchen and bedrooms are not at the same level as the garden. These old houses can benefit from an interior design to become more functional on a daily basis.
On the outskirts of Nantes, there are also traditional houses on the seaside or farmhouses inland. These old houses are very sought after, because they can become very pleasant homes once renovated and modernized.
